taya – managing director/extension specialist

Taya is the founder and managing director at Mane Republic Glam Club. Born and raised in Perth, Taya completed her university studies not knowing where life was taking her. Growing up was tough for Taya with her curly, frizzy mess of a hair. With dreams of having long, beautiful hair this led 16 year old Taya to start experimenting with different methods of hair extensions.

When hair extensions got too expensive on a student budget, she then began to search for alternative ways to install them. The love for extensions slowly became an obsession and she started installing extensions for other girls and loved transforming their hair because she knew what it felt like prior to having them. It quite literally was a confidence booster, and this is what gave her joy. With not much support behind her, she saw a growing market for affordable extensions so started to doing them from home after leaving her 9-5 job and doing mobile call outs.

This eventuated to building her first ever salon. The salon first specialised in extensions, then slowly started to go into general hairdressing, and now after working on the brand for several years Taya joined forces with her now husband Joey. The two also developed and own the brand Luxemane Collection which is the luxury hair extension brand available online and in-store.

When she’s not working on various business projects, Taya works on the floor 3 times a week including; Monday, Thursday and Saturday. When she gets away from the business she loves listening to podcasts, going to the beach, relaxing and getting pampered.

Taya’s faves: Weaving and Styling

Jaz is one of our super talented and bubbly senior hairdressers. Born in New Zealand, she left high school in year 10 knowing full well that she wanted to become a hairdresser. Her passion is shown through her work when doing colour and extension packages, as that is when she gets the most fulfilment. For Jaz, seeing her clients come in and leave completely happy with a transformation is what she loves most. Jaz has completed colour courses for Wella, Revlon, Schwarzkopf and American Crew, and she has also participated in Cutting Hair for the Homeless.
If you’ve seen Jaz in the salon before you’ll notice that she has such a bright energy that comes with her, so it doesn’t surprise us that when she isn’t in the salon, she is also studying her certificate IV in youth work. Jaz’s hobbies include entertaining friends and family and finding some cool and funky new spots for food and drinks.
